Sarah Vout began their work experience in 2005 as an Assistant Manager in the Property Division of KPMG, where they focused on treasury work for ASX listed groups and SEC subsidiaries. In 2007, they moved to Grant Thornton UK LLP as a Senior Manager, a position they held until 2015. Since then, they have been the Head of Finance at Ormiston Academies Trust.

Sarah Vout obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree in Law and Business Studies from the University of Birmingham. Sarah also holds a certification of FCA (ICAEW) from ICAEW, although the month and year of obtaining the certification are not provided.
