Witold Literacki

VP, Corporate Affairs at ORLEN

Witold Literacki graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Silesia in 1994. In 2006, he completed an MBA programme at the Lublin School of Business, run in association with the University of Central Lancashire, UK. Witold Literacki is an expert in finance and taxes. For many years, he has been professionally involved in the fuel and energy industry. He has gained managerial experience working for both foreign and Polish companies.

From 2022 to 2023, he served as Chief Financial Officer at PERN SA, where he was responsible for developing the company’s financial strategy, including asset revaluation for insurance purposes and conclusion of bank credit agreements. He was in charge of the company’s Finance Division.

Prior to that, from 2020 to 2022, he was Chief Financial Officer at Warszawskie Zakłady Mechaniczne PZL - WZM w Warszawie SA. In that role, he was responsible for developing and executing the company’s financial strategy and for preparing and supervising its budget. Simultaneously, since 2021, he has chaired the Supervisory Board of Przedsiębiorstwo Gospodarki Komunalnej Sp. z o.o. of Radomsko, a public utility company.

From 2008 to 2020, he was employed as Head of the Tax Office at PKN ORLEN SA, overseeing the IT Systems Administrators Department, the Tax Reporting Department, the Tax Advisory Department, the Excise Tax Advisory Department, and the Transfer Pricing Team. His remit included the calculation and settlement of tax payments (for relevant values, refer to the ORLEN Group’s reports filed with the stock exchange, e.g. 2019 – PLN 39bn). Under the segment-based management policy, he supervised and coordinated tax affairs at all the Group companies in Poland and on foreign markets (Germany, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Canada, Sweden and Malta). In addition, between 2011 and 2020 he was a member of the SPV management in Sweden, dealing with cash pooling for foreign subsidiaries (Orlen Finance) and the issuance of EUR 1.250m Eurobonds (Orlen Capital).

From 2007 to 2008, he served as Chief Tax Manager at RWE Stoen SA. In that capacity, he interacted with the tax authorities and external auditor, as well as the Tax Director of the company’s ultimate parent in Germany. He led the unbundling process in accordance with the relevant EU regulation.

From 1999 to 2007, he was employed as Senior Manager for Tax Control at Carrefour Polska Sp. z o.o., overseeing, among other things, tax matters related to M&A processes involving retail chains, such as Stock, Globi and Hypernova. He provided day-today tax advice and was in charge of tax planning for the company.

He held a Junior/Senior Consultant position at Arthur Andersen Sp. z o.o. from 1997 to 1999. He was responsible for tax consulting for Polish and foreign clients.

From 1991 to 1997, he worked as Senior Inspector at the Tax Inspection Department of the Zabrze Tax Office. His duties included the conduct of tax inspections at business entities, preparation of tax analyses and drafting of tax assessment decisions.
