Kelly Nierstedt is responsible for leading the strategic and operational direction, and the development of women’s and neonatal services of Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies.
Before joining Orlando Health, Kelly was president of OSF Healthcare Children’s Hospital of Illinois. During her tenure, the Children’s Hospital of Illinois expanded its geographic reach, added several new programs and services, and was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a Best Children’s Hospital.
Kelly also served as vice president of Women’s and Children’s Services at Hackensack Meridian Health, the second-largest healthcare system in New Jersey with multiple sites providing pediatric, neonatal and obstetrical services. For more than 10 years she served in leadership roles with Virtua Health, a large, not-for-profit healthcare system affiliated with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. At Virtua, she developed “Virtua for Women,” a comprehensive care delivery model designed to meet women’s health and wellness needs throughout their lifetime.
She began her career as a staff and charge nurse in Labor & Delivery at Hackensack University Medical Center. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Felician College in New Jersey, and a master’s degree in nursing from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
Kelly is a member of the Children’s Hospital Association, Association of Women’s Health and Neonatal Nursing, American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and American College of Healthcare Executives.
