Joris Wauman began their work experience as a PHD student at Ghent University in October 2004 and ended in April 2011. Joris then joined VIB-UGent as a post-doctoral researcher from May 2011 to December 2016. From 2017 to 2020, Joris worked at VIB as a Staff Scientist. Currently, they are employed as a Scientist at Orionis Biosciences starting from January 2021.

Joris Wauman completed their Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences at Ghent University from 2000 to 2004. Prior to that, they attended Sint-Jan-Berchmanscollege in Sint-Amandsberg from 1994 to 2000, where they focused on Latin-Sciences. Additionally, Joris Wauman has also undertaken studies in Laboratory Animal Science, though the specific years of enrollment are not provided.
