Päivi Joutsiniemi has over 25 years of work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Päivi started their career at Orion Corporation in 1995 as a Chemist in the Quality Control Department. Over the years, they took on various roles including Validation Chemist, Validation Manager, and QC Manager. In 2014, they became the QC Manager for CQC Supportive Functions in Espoo and Turku, and later took on the role of QC Manager for CQC Support and Development. In 2015, Päivi became the GxP Training Manager in the Quality System Department, and in 2017, they were promoted to Manager, Quality System. Currently, they serve as the Head of QC Technical Operations. Prior to their time at Orion Corporation, Päivi worked at the University of Helsinki as a Preparator in the Biochemical laboratory of the Department of Forensic Medicine from 1992 to 1994.

Päivi Joutsiniemi attended the University of Helsinki from 1989 to 1996, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Chemistry. Päivi then pursued further education in Human Resources Management and Services, completing a program at Aalto University Executive Education and Professional Development from 2013 to 2014. Päivi'seducation in this field continued at Aalto University from 2018 to 2021, focusing on Human Resources Management and Services.
