Xuan Liu has been working in the field for over 25 years, beginning in 1993 as a Research Fellow at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. In 1995, they moved to the NIH as an IRTA Fellow, working on malaria antigenic switch in Dr. Louise Miller's lab. In 1997, they joined Osiris as a Senior Research Scientist, researching the gene specific for hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) by cDNA substraction method and identifying multiple genes that displayed differential expression pattern. In 2004, they became the Director of Marketing at OriGene Technologies and then in 2006, they were promoted to Senior Director of Marketing. In 2017, they were appointed as the Sr. VP and General Manager of Research Reagent and eCommerce at OriGene Technologies.
Xuan Liu began their educational journey in 1981 when they attended Chengdu No. 7 Middle School and graduated in 1984. Xuan then went on to pursue a BS in Biology/Biological Sciences, General at the University of Science and Technology of China, which they completed in 1988. Finally, they received their Ph. D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin U-Med & Science in 1992.
