Scientific Founder at Organovo

Gabor Forgacs has extensive work experience in the field of scientific research and innovation. Gabor is currently the Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Fork & Good, Inc., a company focused on developing animal products without the need for slaughtering animals. Prior to this, they were the Scientific Founder of Modern Meadow, Inc., a company that specializes in bioassembly and biofabrication methods for consumer animal products. Gabor also served as the Scientific Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Organovo, Inc., which was the first commercial bioprinting company. Gabor has held distinguished professor positions at Clarkson University and the University of Missouri-Columbia, where they focused on physics and biological physics. Gabor has also worked as the Scientific Director of the Shipley Center for Innovation and as a Senior Scientist at the French Atomic Energy Agency and the Central Research Institute for Physics.

Gabor Forgacs has an extensive education history. Gabor earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from Eötvös Loránd University in 1972. Gabor then pursued further studies at the same university and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Theoretical Physics in 1976. After completing their doctoral studies, Gabor held two postdoctoral fellowships. The first fellowship was at the University at Albany, SUNY, from 1978 to 1979, and the second fellowship was at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1979 to 1981.

Later in their career, Gabor pursued additional studies in the field of developmental biology. Gabor attended the Marine Biological Laboratory Woods Hole in 1992, where they studied embryology. Gabor earned a degree in embryology from the institution and specialized in developmental biology.
