MarÃa Claudia Pulido has a diverse work experience in the field of human rights. MarÃa Claudia started their career as a Staff Attorney at the Public Ministry, where they promoted the protection of human rights and investigated administrative cases of human rights violations. MarÃa Claudia then worked as an Attorney of the National Human Rights Unit at the National Department for Criminal Instruction. Later, MarÃa became a Legal Advisor at Colombia's Attorney General's Office, where they provided oversight on human rights allegations and designed the creation of a new human rights unit. MarÃa Claudia also served as the Chief Prosecutor of the Human Rights Unit, supervising criminal investigations and coordinating with NGOs and governmental agencies. MarÃa Claudia Pulido then joined the Center for Justice and International Law as a Staff Attorney, representing victims before the Inter-American System on Human Rights and providing training to human rights defenders. Finally, they joined the Organization of American States, where they held various roles, including Principal Specialist and coordinator of the Human Rights Unit, and was responsible for the coordination of the Friendly Settlement Group and the Southern Cone Section. MarÃa Claudia was also involved in the work of the Rapporteur on the Rights of Persons Deprived of Liberty. Overall, MarÃa Claudia Pulido has extensive experience in the field of human rights and has worked in various capacities to promote and protect human rights.
MarÃa Claudia Pulido holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in International Law and Legal Studies from the American University Washington College of Law, which they obtained from 1997 to 1998. MarÃa Claudia also has a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree in Law from the Universidad Externado de Colombia, obtained from 1982 to 1988. In addition, they have earned a Specialization Certificate in Human Rights from the Escuela Superior de Administración Pública in 1994, and another Specialization Certificate in Criminal Law from the Universidad Externado de Colombia in 1989.
