Pete Goodliffe

Author, Becoming A Better Programmer (book) at O'Reilly Media

Pete Goodliffe has a diverse and extensive work experience in the software development and music industries. Pete currently holds the position of CTO at inMusic, where they combine their passion for music product design and software development to improve company processes and infrastructure. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Software Development, Software Lead for MPC, and VP of Software Development at inMusic. Pete also worked as a Principal Software Developer for Akai, Numark, Alesis, and MixMeister, contributing to products in the MI and DJ industries across various platforms.

In addition to their work in the software development field, Pete is an accomplished author, having written books such as "Becoming a Better Programmer" published by O'Reilly Media, as well as "Code Craft" for No Starch Press. Pete has also contributed to several book projects for O'Reilly.

During their career, Pete has also written a regular column on software development for ACCU's C Vu magazine.

Outside of the software development industry, Pete has pursued their passion for music as a keyboard player and songwriter for C3, utilizing various instruments and equipment.

Prior to their current roles, Pete held positions as a Principal Software Developer for Numark Industries, Akai Digital Group, Senior Software Engineer for Imerge Ltd and Pace Microtechnology plc, and Senior Software Engineer for Acorn Computers, Ltd.

Pete Goodliffe attended the University of Nottingham from 1995 to 1997, where they pursued a degree in Computer Science. Pete'sfield of study during this time is not specified.
