Ben Evans has a diverse range of work experience in the technology industry. Ben has held various roles at different companies throughout their career.

Starting in 2009, Ben worked at Deutsche Bank as a Senior Developer, focusing on low latency trading systems. Ben later became the Chief Architect for Listed Derivatives, responsible for guiding development teams and ensuring technical consistency.

In 2010, Ben also became an Author for Manning Publications Co., writing a best-selling book on Java development.

In 2011, they joined the Java Community Process as an Executive Committee Member, representing the London Java Community and contributing to the production of new Java standards.

From 2012 to 2019, Ben worked at jClarity as a Technical Fellow and later as CEO, involved in developing Java Virtual Machine (JVM) technologies.

In 2013, they became an Author at O'Reilly Media, writing books and contributing articles on Java optimization.

Starting in 2014, Ben took on the role of Java Track Lead at InfoQ, contributing and commissioning articles on Java and the JVM ecosystem.

In 2017, they briefly worked as a Consulting CTO at Promise Giving Limited.

From 2019 to 2021, Ben worked at New Relic, Inc. as a Principal Engineer and Lead Architect, specializing in instrumentation and JVM technologies.

Currently, they hold the position of Senior Principal Software Engineer at Red Hat, where they continue to contribute their expertise to the software engineering field.

Ben Evans attended the University of Cambridge from 1993 to 1997, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics.
