Janie Velarde is an experienced writer and photographer currently working at Emerald Media Group since September 2019 and serving as a Campus Copy Staff member at the University of Oregon since March 2019. Janie held the position of Head of Marketing at High Tech Farms Oregon from February 2021 to July 2024 and gained early experience as a Staff Member at Corner Bakery between September 2017 and August 2018. Janie earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a concentration in History from the University of Oregon between 2018 and 2020 and is currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design at Portland Community College from September 2024 to 2026. Additional educational background includes attending Palomar College and Mt. San Jacinto College from 2016 to 2018.
