Omar Bacarreza's work experience includes:
1. Senior Machine Learning Scientist at ORCA Computing starting from March 2023.
2. Visiting Researcher at Imperial College London, with roles including Stochastic optimization of non-convex problems, developing and implementing a platform for virtual structural health monitoring, and developing and implementing a platform for virtual testing and structural design. This role lasted from April 2015 until the present.
3. Research Computing Scientist at Imperial College London, where they performed large scale FEM analysis, carried out nonlinear impact simulations, and developed and implemented novel numerical methodologies for industrial applications. This role lasted from January 2009 until February 2015.
4. Principal Research Scientist at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence from February 2022 to March 2023.
Omar Bacarreza obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physical and Material Engineering from the Czech Technical University in Prague. Omar pursued this degree from 2004 to 2007. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Engineering (MEng) in Building and Structural Engineering from the same institution, studying from 1998 to 2003.
In addition to their formal education, Omar Bacarreza has also obtained several certifications. In 2022, they achieved the "IBM Quantum Challenge Fall 2022 Achievement" from IBM, and the "Qiskit Global Summer School 2022 - Quantum Excellence" also from IBM. In the same year, they acquired the "Quantum Algorithms for Cybersecurity, Chemistry, and Optimization" certification from MIT xPRO, and the "Introduction to Quantum Computing" certification, also from MIT xPRO, in the preceding month.
