Matthias Haag has held a variety of positions in the energy sector since 1997. Matthias began their career at Shell as a Project Engineer in 1997, and was promoted to Lead Engineer at Shell - Sakhalin Energy in 2000. In 2003, they became a Project Manager at Shell WindEnergy, and in 2007 they moved to Shell as General Manager Projects. In 2008, they joined Aquamarine Power Limited as Chief Operating Officer and Oceanflow Energy Ltd as a Non-Executive Director. In 2013, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Gemini Wind Park, and in 2018 they took on roles at EDF Renewables UK as Project Director NnG (Neart na Gaoithe) and Orbital Marine Power Ltd as a Non-Executive Director, as well as a Director role at Pronewable Limited.
Matthias Haag attended Technische Universität Darmstadt from 1991 to 1997, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1996, they completed a research term and thesis at the University of Cambridge.
