Timothy Van Name began their work experience in 2012 as an Engineer at Össur. From 2013 to 2015, they served as a Systems Engineer at the United States Department of Defense. In 2015, they joined the National Security Council at The White House as a Senior Technical Advisor, later becoming Deputy Director of White House IT. In 2017, they became Deputy Director at the Defense Digital Service until 2019. From 2019 to 2022, they served as the Command Technology Officer at the United States Army Special Operations Command. In 2022, they took on the role of Chief Technology Officer at Orbis Operations, LLC.
Timothy Van Name completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biomedical Engineering from UC Irvine, which they obtained from 2008 to 2012. Timothy then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Scientific Threat Response Management from the University of Chicago, specializing in training law enforcement to combat human trafficking. Timothy completed this degree program from 2012 to 2014. Lastly, they attended the Naval Postgraduate School from 2014 to 2017, where they earned a degree in Cyber Warfare, focusing on Computer Engineering and Cyber Defense.
