Sergio Contreras, Jr. has a diverse work experience. Sergio has worked at the Orange County United Way from 2013 to the present, holding various roles including Executive Director, Senior Director of Education & Healthy Schools, and Director of Education. Sergio has also served as a Director on the Board of Directors of the Midway City Sanitary District since December 2018. Additionally, they served as a City Council Member for the City of Westminster from 2012 to 2020, where they focused on park upgrades and public safety initiatives. Prior to this, Sergio was President of the Westminster School District Board of Trustees from 2004 to 2012, working to expand after-school programs and improve learning opportunities for students.
Sergio Contreras, Jr. began their education at Westminster High School, where they earned their High School Diploma in 1992. Sergio then attended Orange Coast College from 1993 to 1996, where they obtained an Associate of Arts - AA degree. Sergio continued their education at California State University, Long Beach, starting in 1996, and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. During this time, from 1999 to 2001, they also pursued a Master of Public Administration - MPA degree with a specialization in Public Policy Analysis from California State University, Long Beach.
