Margaret Normand has a diverse work experience in various fields. In 2008, they worked as a Sailing Instructor at Neilson Active Holidays. Margaret then transitioned into a role as a Research Scientist at Dstl, where they worked from October 2008 to August 2014. In 2014, Margaret began their academic journey at The University of Glasgow, where they worked as a Masters Student until August 2015. Margaret then moved on to The University of Edinburgh, where they pursued their PhD in the field of research. Margaret worked as a PhD Candidate from September 2014 to July 2019. In parallel with their studies, they also gained experience as a Technology Transfer Intern at Edinburgh Research & Innovation (ERI) from January 2016 to April 2017. Currently, Margaret is working as a Research Engineer at Optos, starting from October 2018.

Margaret Normand began their education journey in 2004 at Durham University, where they completed their MSci degree in Physics in 2008. Margaret then went on to pursue further studies at The University of Edinburgh from 2014 to 2019, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Engineering.
