Jeff Bohren

Chief Software Engineer at Optimal IdM

Jeff Bohren has a long and varied work experience in the software engineering field. Jeff has held various roles in different companies, starting from 1989.

From 1989 to 1992, Jeff worked as a Developer at Command System Group, where they developed applications in C/C++, ADA, and Fortran. Jeff also worked on a 3D terrain rendering system for the Comanche Helicopter program.

In 1993, they joined Trident Data Systems as a Senior Software Engineer, where they led a team in developing a commercial Solaris RAD tool for RDBMS applications. Jeff also performed R&D for various CORBA products and designed user interfaces.

In 1995, Jeff moved to ARINC as a Principle Analyst, where they developed a commercial RAD tool for SNMP network management. Jeff also worked on product development in C++ and Java and was the lead developer on a TMN project for MCI.

From 1998 to 2001, they worked at Access360 as a Software Architect, where they helped architect, design, and develop the enRole 4.0 provisioning product and developed the I18N strategy for all Access360 products. Access360 was acquired by IBM and is now the Tivoli Identity Manager.

In 2001, Jeff joined both OpenNetwork Technology and BMC Software as a Software Architect. At OpenNetwork Technology, they worked until 2003 and at BMC Software until 2008. During this time, they were responsible for product architecture in both J2EE and .NET technologies.

From 2008 to 2009, they worked at SunView Software as a Lead Software Developer/Architect, where they led the development of the ChangeGear product team, focusing on C#, ASP.NET, and web service development for an ITIL compliant Service Desk, Change Management, and Configuration Management (CMDB) product.

From 2009 to 2011, they worked at CareMedic Systems as a Development Manager/Architect. Here, they led a cross-product initiative to improve the reliability, scalability, maintainability, and security of a suite of CareMedic products while managing a team of SW architects and developers.

Finally, since 2011, Jeff has been working at OptimalIdM as the Chief Software Engineer. Jeff specializes in Office 365 integration and has developed implementations of various authentication protocols and federation services.

Jeff Bohren completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Florida between 1982 and 1987. Jeff then pursued their Master of Science (MS) in Aerospace Engineering from the same university from 1987 to 1988.
