John Reece has extensive legal experience in both regulatory and product counsel roles. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Product & Regulatory Counsel at Oportun, John previously held significant positions at Capital One, including Senior Director and Associate General Counsel for Capital One Bank, focusing on payments, product, and fraud matters. Earlier in John's career, experience included roles as Director and Senior Manager at Capital One, and as a Litigation Associate at the law firm Hanson, Bridgett, Marcus, Vlahos & Rudy. John also served as Chief Counsel for the Office of Criminal Justice Planning and as a Deputy District Attorney for the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office.
