Manoj Perera has over 20 years of work experience in the technology industry. Manoj began their career in 2000 as a Software Engineer at Creative Solutions, where they gained hands-on experience in application development. In 2006, they joined Whispir as a Tech Lead - Product Innovation, where they were responsible for working closely with engineering teams, product managers, sales, enablement and service teams to define features, write specifications and user stories. Manoj also took on the role of Principal Engineer & Software Architect, Applications, where they were responsible for leading a team of Front End and Mobile Developers and owning the technical architecture for web stack and mobile stack developments. In 2018, they joined Operata as a Principal Engineer.

Manoj Perera has an extensive education history. In 1996-1998, they obtained a Diploma in Computer System Design from the Institute of Business Management in Sri Lanka. In 2001, they earned a Professional Graduate Diploma from the British Computer Society. Finally, from 2007-2009, they earned an MIT in IT from Swinburne University of Technology. Additionally, they have obtained three certifications from Sun Microsystems: Sun Certified Business Component Developer for J2EE Platform 1.3 (2006), Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 Platform (2006), and Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 Platform 1.4 (2006).
