Garrett L. has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Garrett started their career at Endurance International Group as a Web Advisor, providing helpdesk support for website hosting and specializing in migrations and DNS management. Garrett then joined the United States Air Force, where they worked as a Network Administrator, managing firewalls and proxies across multiple locations and overseeing software upgrades for enhanced security. Garrett later transitioned to the role of Network Security Analyst, contributing to the enterprise-level Defensive Cyber Operations team by detecting and mitigating malicious events and analyzing network traffic. After leaving the Air Force, they joined Mitel as a DevOps Engineer, where they showcased their expertise in managing Google Cloud Platform resources using Terraform, Ansible/Puppet, and Bitbucket Pipelines. Garrett successfully led the migration of NGINX reverse proxies to GCP by integrating them into a Kubernetes cluster. Currently, they are working at OpenVPN Inc. as a DevOps Engineer, leading the migration of Datawarehouse pipelines to Google Cloud Platform while implementing Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform and ensuring consistent configurations with Ansible. Overall, Garrett has a solid background in infrastructure management, network security, and DevOps practices.

Garrett L. completed their Bachelor of Science degree in IT - Network Operations and Security from Western Governors University in 2020. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate of Applied Science degree in Information Technology from the Community College of the Air Force.

In addition to their degrees, Garrett has several certifications. Garrett obtained the CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA in May 2018. In December 2019, they achieved the GIAC Continuous Monitoring Certification (GMON) from GIAC Certifications and the GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) also from GIAC Certifications. Furthermore, Garrett obtained the Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA Routing and Switching) certification from Cisco in January 2020. Most recently, in January 2021, they obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
