Koji Kanao has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Starting in 2006, they worked as an intern at Mynet Inc., where they assisted in service operations and customer service for a mobile website creation service. In 2010, they joined a Japanese SIer company and worked as a Software Engineer, focusing on various development projects using different programming languages and platforms. From 2014 to 2016, Koji worked as an IT Director at NY de Volunteer, managing technology and developing systems to support the organization's operations. In 2016, they became the CTO at Amicus.io before moving on to co-found NGEMS in 2017, where they served as the CSO and Lead Engineer, working on prototype development and researching solutions for people tracking in specific spaces. From 2018 to 2020, Koji held the position of Researcher at ITP, conducting research on Raspberry Pi, machine learning, and supporting students with technical issues for their projects. Additionally, they worked on CLI tools development. During the same period, they also worked as a Software Engineer at Ubiquiti Networks, focusing on web application development and improving the development environment. In 2020, Koji worked as a Technology Specialist at Momentum Advisors, and in 2021, they joined Pivotal Advisors as a Corporate System Engineer, where they conducted research on technology and created a pilot scheme for cryptocurrency distribution. Currently, they are working as a Software Engineer at Opentrons Labworks Inc.

Koji Kanao has a strong educational background in various fields. Koji obtained their Bachelor's degree in Weather derivatives and Operations Research from Tokyo University of Science in 2008. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Econometrics at Kobe University from 2008 to 2010. To further enhance their knowledge and skills, Koji pursued a Master's degree in Information Technology at New York University's Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) from 2016 to 2018.
