Jim Griszbacher has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Jim is currently serving as the Director of Systems Engineering at Opentrons Labworks Inc. Since founding BK Hardware Solutions in 2019, they have been leading the company as its Founder. Prior to that, they worked as the VP of Hardware Engineering at Teralytic from August 2018 to January 2019.
From April 2016 to August 2018, Jim held the position of Director of Electrical Engineering at Latch, where they were responsible for contract manufacturer site support, architecture development, design, sourcing, implementation, and deployment of production testing platforms. Jim also managed the electrical engineering department, including talent development, team process, coordination with other departments and manufacturing, equipment management, schedule development, and reporting.
Before joining Latch, Jim worked at MakerBot as the Director of Electrical Engineering from October 2015 to April 2016 and as the Electrical Engineering Group Manager from March 2014 to October 2015. Jim also served as an Electrical Engineer at MakerBot, where they designed and implemented electronic hardware sub-assemblies, provided system level support and integration, and analyzed and optimized electronic sub-assemblies for electromagnetic compliance.
Prior to MakerBot, Jim worked at Lutron Electronics as an Electrical Design and Development Engineer from September 2012 to May 2013 and as a Senior Project Electrical Engineer from June 2011 to September 2012.
Jim began their career as an Associate Member of Technical Staff at ITT Avionics from March 2010 to January 2011. Jim also gained experience as an Engineering Intern at Quixotic Systems, Inc. in 2009 and as an Engineering Co-Op at Lutron Electronics in 2007 and 2006.
Jim Griszbacher completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University, starting in 2004 and finishing in 2008. Jim then went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia Engineering, where they studied from 2008 to 2009.
