Job description

We are seeking a Product Manager with marketplace or martech experience to lead the charge in shaping our product strategy and managing the end-to-end product development lifecycle.

OpenSponsorship is the largest digital marketplace making it easy for brands to partner with athletes. We have 11,000+ athletes across 160 sports (including over 50% of the NFL and NBA) and support clients like Walmart, Sperry, FanDuel, and ESPN. We recently closed a $4.5M growth round, and are backed by NBA team owners, athletes, notable VCs, and world class accelerators.

Responsibilities

  • Gain a deep understanding of the OS customers (brands and athletes/agents) through A) user interviews that you would develop and conduct B) working with our data analyst to understand historic trends and C) working with internal team members such as account managers and execs
  • Understand product developments that could drive revenue e.g. partnership integrations, functionality to increase marketing performance, new product offerings
  • Ensure the user experience is optimized to drive conversions and customer satisfaction
  • Assist the engineering team by translating product strategy into technical requirements (i.e. define the product roadmap, sprint meetings and prioritize engineering work
  • Finding hypothetical problems based on data, feedback, gut -> then managing analysis, tests and other methods to support or prove the existence of the problem to share with exec team to brainstorm and implement solutions.
  • Create business models and analyze competitive landscape

Qualifications

  • BA/BS from a top-tier college or university
  • 4+ years of product management experience (as a PM or Associate PM) ideally in a marketplace or martech environment
  • Understanding of two-sided marketplace dynamics and levers for growth
  • Track record of successfully managing all aspects of the product life cycle
  • Experience with digital / influencer marketing and technology products
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate and influence others
  • Passionate about tackling big challenges and disrupting an industry
  • Lover of all things Sports and Marketing
