Yicheng (Marco) Huang is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in database infrastructure and cloud technology. Currently serving as a PieCloudDB Senior Engineer at OpenPie since October 2022, Yicheng succeeded in building PieCloudDB on the cloud. Previous roles include engineer at ByteDance, focused on database infrastructure, and senior software engineer at FreeWheel, where contributions included developing transcoding services for major clients like NBC and Disney. Yicheng's career started with a graduate student position at Carnegie Mellon University's Information Networking Institute, where studies centered on cloud and wireless security. Additional experience includes software engineering roles at Daolab, where Yicheng worked on video streaming and encoding, and consulting at Arup, engaging in IT project management. Educational qualifications encompass a Master’s Degree in Information Technology and Security from Carnegie Mellon University, a Master of Applied Informatics from the University of Hyogo, and a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) with First Class Honors in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
