Brian Baker has a diverse and extensive work experience. Brian is currently the Director of Platform Engineering and Support at KAR Global, starting in March 2023. Prior to their current role, Brian worked at KAR Global as a Senior Technology Manager, responsible for leading Platform Engineering and Production Support teams for multiple business units since November 2015.
Brian also has experience as a Release Manager at AT&T Mobility (Consultant) where they managed software releases for a web-based application from December 2008 to April 2011, and again from March 2014 to October 2015. During this time, they coordinated QA and UAT validation work, developed communication plans, managed deployment activities, and oversaw the deployment of major projects and maintenance releases.
Before that, Brian worked at Meteorcomm LLC as a PMO Manager, Program Manager, and Product Support Manager, responsible for delivering Positive Train Control functionality for Class I freight railroads from March 2011 to February 2014.
Brian also has experience as a Senior Manager of Vendor Relationships at Washington Mutual/JP Morgan Chase, Operations Manager at Citi, and owner of a Handyman Matters franchise. Additionally, Brian worked at Sears in various roles, including Manager of Business Intelligence, Project Manager, Data Warehouse Team Leader, and Programmer.
Brian Baker obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Northern Illinois University from 1989 to 1993. Brian also holds a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute, obtained in 2013.
