Renny Hwang currently serves as Deputy General Counsel at OpenAI, a position held since July 2023. Prior to this, Renny Hwang was Senior Director, Legal and Head of Global Litigation at Google from February 2010 to July 2023, where responsibilities included advising senior executives and the Board on various legal issues and leading a global litigation team of 50 professionals. Earlier in the career, Renny Hwang worked as an Associate at Latham & Watkins LLP, focusing on complex intellectual property litigation, and as a Product Manager at Homestead Technologies, leading product strategy and coordination across multiple teams. Renny Hwang earned a JD from Harvard Law School and an M.S. in Management Science & Engineering, along with a B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University.
