Maria Vallmitjana has a diverse work experience in the aerospace and engineering industry. Maria is currently working as a Mission Manager at Open Cosmos since May 2022. Prior to that, they worked at NEXTIUM by Idneo as a Technical Project Leader from April 2021 to May 2022. From June 2017 to March 2021, they worked at FICOSA as a Technical Project Leader. Maria also has experience working at Airbus Defence and Space, where they held positions as Antenna AIT Manager from September 2016 to June 2017 and Lead AIT Mechanical Satellite Engineer from May 2014 to September 2016. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Space System Product Assurance Engineer at QinetiQ from March 2013 to May 2014. Maria started their professional journey at Mier Comunicaciones, where they held the roles of MAIT Lead Engineer from October 2009 to September 2012 and Trainee from October 2008 to September 2009. Maria began their career as a Trainee at Deloitte from June 2005 to November 2005.

Maria Vallmitjana has a diverse education history. In 2001-2004, they attended Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Technical Engineering in Telecommunications. From 2005 to 2006, they studied at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and earned a Master's degree in 3D Computer Animation. Later, in 2007-2009, they pursued a Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Finally, in 2011-2012, they completed a Master's degree in Integrated Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).
