Simon Grötzinger has worked in various roles since 2005. Simon began their career as a Working Student at Konzept Informationssysteme in 2005. From 2007-2008, they served as a Wehrdienst in the German Federal Armed Forces. Simon then returned to Konzept Informationssysteme as a Working Student in 2008. In 2009, they joined TechniData AG (now SAP) as a Working Student. In 2011, they were hired by salesperformer GmbH as a Software Developer, where they developed a server in C# and ASP.NET. In 2016, they co-founded Open as App and held two roles: Team Lead & Co-Founder, where they led a distributed agile development team, and Senior Software Developer & Co-Founder, where they implemented the initial version of a C# based back-end and developed a web front-end for a SaaS no-code platform.

Simon Grötzinger's education history includes attending the Gymnasium Wilhelmsdorf from 1998-2004, Technisches Gymnasium Ravensburg from 2004-2007 where they obtained their Abitur, Technical University of Munich from 2008-2011 where they obtained their Bachelor of Science in Informatics, Tecnológico de Monterrey from 2012-2013, and Technical University of Munich again from 2011-2015 where they obtained their Master of Science in Informatics. Additionally, they have obtained two certifications, the Product Analytics Certification (PAC) from Product School in 2021 and the Azure DevOps Assessment from Microsoft in 2019.
