Tero Bister has an extensive work experience in the field of finance and technology. Tero began their career as a Consultant at Jyväskylän kaupunki - City of Jyväskylä in 1985, and later worked as an Analyst/Programmer at Tehdaspuu from 1986 to 1988. Tero then joined Financial Software Technology as an IT Consultant from 1988 to 1989, followed by a role as a Consultant at Accenture from 1990 to 1993. Tero then worked as an Application Manager at Oriola-KD Corporation from 1993 to 1997, and as an IT Manager at OP Financial Group from 1997 to 1999. Tero then moved on to Helsinki Exchanges Group (HEX), where they held the position of Senior Vice President and CEO of Helsinki Securities Technology Ltd. from 1999 to 2003. Tero returned to OP Financial Group in 2003, serving as Vice President until 2012, and then as Senior Vice President from 2013 onwards.
Tero Bister completed an eMBA from the Management Institute of Finland (MIF) in 2012-2013. In 2008-2009, they attended the JTO School of Management. Tero also received a qualification as an expert in investment services from The Finnish Association of Securities Dealers in 2006. Tero pursued additional studies at the Helsinki School of Economics, Centre for Management Development in 1995 and 1992. Tero earned a Master's Degree in Computer Sciences from the University of Jyväskylä between 1981-1984 and also studied accounting and economics. Tero completed their high school education at Jämsänkoski high school from 1977-1981.
