Alec Cheng currently serves as the SVP Chief Controller and Accounting Officer at Ontario Power Generation, where leadership is provided to a team of over 100 professionals, overseeing all key finance operations functions. Previously, as Vice President and Treasurer, Alec Cheng spearheaded the financing for acquisitions totaling $5 billion during the COVID-19 pandemic and established the organization as the largest corporate green bond issuer in Canada. With a strong background in commercial management, finance reporting, and policy development, Alec Cheng has extensive experience in managing relationships with banks and vendors, optimizing capital structures, and delivering strategic financial advice for growth and climate initiatives. Alec Cheng holds a Master's degree in Accounting from the University of Waterloo and has pursued additional education at the Rotman School of Management and Smith School of Business at Queen's University.
