Geoff Owen

Vice Chair at Ontario Energy Board

Geoff Owen has a diverse and extensive work experience in various industries and sectors. Geoff started their career in the Ontario Government, where they held roles such as Senior Policy Advisor and Senior Manager in the Offices of the Premier and the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing. After that, they worked as the Director of eCommerce Integration at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. In 2004, they joined the Canadian Bankers Association as Director of Banking Operations.

Moving into the corporate sector, Geoff joined RBC and held multiple positions, including Director of Business Strategy and Regulatory Affairs and Director of Public Affairs and Brand Communications. Geoff played a key role in brand building and reputation management for the bank during the global financial crisis.

Geoff then served as the Vice President at StrategyCorp Inc., where they worked closely with senior leaders from various sectors on overcoming business challenges related to government and stakeholders. Following this, they joined Hill+Knowlton Strategies as a Senior Vice President & Group Leader, leading the Toronto public affairs practice and the Strategic Leadership Group.

Currently, Geoff is a Principal at Foresight Strategic Advisors, where they help organizations navigate complex strategic challenges related to government policy. Additionally, they are a Member of the Board of Directors at Ontario Energy Board. Throughout their career, Geoff has demonstrated their expertise in public affairs, government relations, and strategic leadership.

Geoff Owen completed a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Political Studies at Queen's University from 1992 to 1996. Geoff later pursued a Master of Science degree in International Political Economy at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 1999 to 2000. Additionally, in 2023, they attended Harvard University to study the Strategic Management of Regulatory and Enforcement Agencies, although no specific degree was mentioned.
