Shenda Tanchak has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Shenda began their career as a lawyer in a private legal practice from 1991 to 1994. Shenda then moved on to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, where they held several positions, including Senior Advisor in the Executive Office, Manager in various divisions, and Investigator for sexual abuse investigations from 1994 to 2012. Following this, they worked at the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario as Registrar and CEO from 2012 to 2018, where they played a crucial role in the development and implementation of the College's vision and strategic goals. From 2019 to 2022, they worked as a Principal Consultant at Magnetic North Consulting. Currently, they serve as the Registrar and CEO of the Ontario College of Pharmacists, a position they assumed in 2022.
Shenda Tanchak began their education journey by obtaining a LL.B. degree in Law from the University of Toronto, which they completed between 1986 and 1989. Shenda then pursued various short-term professional development programs to enhance their skills and knowledge in different areas. In 2018, they attended the Schulich School of Business - York University to study LEAN Operational Excellence for Service Organizations. In 2016, Shenda participated in several short courses, including Strategic Management of Regulatory Agencies at the Harvard Kennedy School, Advanced Facilitation Skills at Facilitation First, and Data Literacy at the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management. Before that, in 2015 Shenda attended a program on IT for Non IT Managers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Sloan School of Management. In 2012, they completed a course in Finance for Non Financial Managers at the Smith School of Business at Queen's University. Moreover, in 2011, they received training from the Balanced Scorecard Institute in Balanced Scorecard Professional. Lastly, in 2010, Shenda pursued a program on Strategic Planning at the Smith School of Business at Queen's University. Prior to all these, they earned a B.Ed. degree majoring in Drama and English from the University of Alberta between 1982 and 1986. To further their education, they also completed a Diploma program in Advertising and Public Relations at Grant MacEwan Community College from 1979 to 1980.
