Andreea Norman

Director, Workforce Development at Ontario Bioscience Industry Organization

Andreea Norman has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Andreea began their career in 1998 as a Document Control and Project Coordinator at SNC-LAVALIN CO. LTD., where they managed documentation and implemented ISO 9001 and internal engineering standards and protocols. Andreea then transitioned to a Research Technician role at the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute, specifically the Center for Modelling Human Disease in the Rossant Laboratory.

In 2004, Andreea joined the Hospital for Sick Children Research Institute as a Research Technologist in the Taylor Laboratory, focusing on neurodevelopmental diseases and neural stem cells. Andreea continued their research work at the Hospital for Sick Children RI as a Graduate Student and Academic Researcher in the Miller/Kaplan Laboratory from 2007 to 2012, leading research projects related to autism and neural stem cells.

From 2012 to 2018, Andreea worked in Product Development at the Centre for Commercialization of Regenerative Medicine (CCRM), where they organized and managed key components of Canada's premier stem cell conference, the Till & McCulloch meetings. Andreea also held the role of Director, Development at Janus Conferences in 2019, focusing on organizational development.

In 2019, Andreea joined IRMAC as the Director of Communications, where they were responsible for organizing and hosting speaking and networking events focused on governance, compliance, privacy, and data protection. Additionally, they attracted sponsorships and secured event speakers.

Currently, Andreea is employed at the Ontario Bioscience Innovation Organization, where they hold the position of Director, Workforce Development. Andreea also previously served as the Program Manager for the Health to Business Bridge program at the same organization.

Throughout their career, Andreea has demonstrated expertise in various roles within research, project coordination, event management, and communications, making their a versatile and experienced professional.

Andreea Norman completed their BSc. Hon in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Toronto between the years 1996 and 2002. Andreea later pursued their MSc. in Molecular Genetics from the same university, graduating between 2007 and 2010.
