Neil Papworth's work experience spans over several companies and roles. Neil began their career in 1988 as a Software Engineer at Ferranti International, where they worked on embedded systems for military applications. Neil then joined Sema Group Telecoms in 1991, where they designed and developed high-performance communications software and contributed to the design of an Intelligent Network middleware.

In 1999, Neil joined SchlumbergerSema (formerly Sema Group Telecoms) as a Senior Software Designer/Developer, where they developed Wi-Fi authentication systems and a Missed Call Advisor using telecommunications signaling protocols. Neil continued their work at SchlumbergerSema when it became Airwide Solutions, focusing on product architecture and critical performance improvements for data-mining and reporting applications.

Neil joined Oracle in 2013 as a Software Architect, responsible for a User Data Repository and the design of multi-server enterprise solutions. Neil promoted and implemented a next-generation distributed platform architecture to migrate legacy applications. After Tekelec was acquired by Oracle, Neil worked on resolving integration issues and driving project completion.

In 2017, Neil underwent training at Amazon Web Services to obtain certifications as an Amazon Web Services Certified Developer Associate and an Amazon Web Services Certified Solutions Architect Associate. Neil achieved these certifications in 2018.

Neil later joined TriNimbus (an Onica company) in 2018 as a Cloud Solutions Architect, before transitioning to Onica by Rackspace Technology as a Solutions Architect and then as a Senior Cloud Practice Architect. The roles involved providing cloud solutions and architecture expertise to clients.
