Richard pioneered the delivery of legal services over the Internet by establishing one of the first virtual law firms in the U.S.
He served as Co-Chair of the ELawyering Task Force of the Law Practice Management Division of the American Bar Association (ABA) and served on the Standing Committee on the Delivery of Legal Services of the ABA. He serves on the governing council of the Law Practice Division, ABA, and is a member of the Productivity & Knowledge Strategy Group, and the Legal Project Management group. The ABA awarded him a Louis M. Brown Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010 and the James Keane Award for Excellence in 2013.
Richard is also a Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management. A graduate of Columbia University School of Law (J.D.), the University of Pennsylvania (M.S.), and Lehigh University (B.A.), he is a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia Bar.
