Ian Okumu is a highly experienced Senior Android Engineer currently working at One Acre Fund since April 2024, where responsibilities include designing and deploying offline-first Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. In addition to technical development, Ian champions user-centric design, mentors junior engineers, and collaborates in an Agile development environment. Concurrently, as an Android Video Course Instructor at Kodeco since January 2023 and previously at droidcon, Ian researches and documents emerging concepts in Android application development. Ian has a strong background in mentorship from positions at Moringa School, where training and facilitating live instruction have been essential. Previous experience includes roles as a Technical Team Lead and Android Engineer at Amaris Solutions Group, and as an Android Developer and Instructor at Zalego Academy. Ian holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor's degree in Financial Engineering, both from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
