Tyler Nielsen has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Tyler started their career in 2010 as a Research Assistant at Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc, where they worked until September 2012. Tyler then joined Aegis Sciences Corporation as a Research Associate from September 2012 to June 2013. In June 2013, they began working at Insight Genetics Inc as a Research Scientist, a role they held until January 2016. Tyler was then promoted to the position of Sr. Research Scientist at the same company and continued until January 2020. From January 2018 to January 2020, Tyler also worked as a Staff Scientist at Insight Genetics Inc. In 2020, they joined Oncocyte Corporation as a Staff Scientist and was later promoted to the position of Senior Scientist in June 2021.

Tyler Nielsen completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Biochemistry at Augustana College from 2004 to 2008. Afterward, they pursued further education and obtained a Masters of Biomedical Sciences degree with a focus on Microbiology from Des Moines University between 2008 and 2010.
