Kimberly Smith began their work experience in 2015 as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. From 2016 to 2018, they worked at Werner Enterprises as an Optimization Systems Engineer, where they utilized mathematical optimization methods and metaheuristics to optimize business problems. During their time at Werner Enterprises, they also worked as a Data Scientist II, responsible for gathering, cleaning, transforming, and analyzing data for data-driven decision making. Since 2021, Kimberly has been working at ON24 as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer and is currently serving as the Engineering Lead, ML Ops.

Kimberly Smith obtained their Master of Science degree in Data Analytics from Western Governors University in the years 2019 to 2020. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor's degree in Operations Research and Mathematics from the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 2013 to 2017. Kimberly'shigh school education was completed at Bellevue West High School between 2009 and 2013, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned. Additionally, Kimberly Smith has acquired the certification of "Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate" from Microsoft in January 2021.
