Rita Souto Maior has a diverse and extensive work experience in various positions. Rita started their career as an Electrical Engineer at Casarano Edificações in 1995. Rita then worked as a Sales Engineer at General Electric Company from 1996 to 2001. After that, they joined Areva T&D as a Sales Engineer from 2001 to 2005. Rita then worked at Siemens Company as a Senior Sales Engineer, where they managed a technical-commercial team, negotiated with customers, and developed channel partners. In 2008, they served as a Contract Manager at Alstom Power for a year. From 2010 to 2013, they worked as a Business Developer at Abengoa. Rita then joined GE as an Account Manager from 2013 to 2017. In 2020, they became the Country Sales Manager at XM Textiles Europe until 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Sales and Application Engineer at OMICRON electronics.

Rita Souto Maior obtained a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from CEFET-RJ University in Rio de Janeiro, which they pursued from 1988 to 1993. Later, from 2002 to 2004, they attended Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) and earned an MBA and Bachelor's degree in 2003. Their studies at FGV focused on Finance Administration and Electrical Engineering.
