Katharine Preston has extensive work experience in the field of sustainable investing. Katharine started their career as a Junior Engineer at Stantec Consulting in 1998 and worked there until 2001. Katharine then joined Innovest, where they served as a Senior Analyst from 2002 to 2006 and later became the Director of Research from 2007 to 2008. In 2008, they began their tenure at OPTrust as a Manager of Responsible Investing and held various positions within the organization until 2019, including Senior Manager and Director of Responsible Investing. Currently, they are working as the Vice President of Sustainable Investing at OMERS.
Katharine Preston pursued their education in a chronological order, beginning in 1992. From 1992 to 1997, they attended McGill University, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Later, in 2001 and 2002, they enrolled at the Schulich School of Business - York University and completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Business and Sustainability.
