Kirk Matthews has a strong background in construction and project management. Kirk started their career at John S. Clark Company, LLC in 2007, where they worked as a Project Manager until 2012. In 2012, Kirk joined Omega Construction, Inc. as a Project Manager and later became the Vice President of the Industrial/Distribution Division in 2020.

Kirk Matthews attended Wingate University from 2002 to 2005, although the specific degree and field of study are unknown. Following their time at Wingate, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, which they successfully completed from 2005 to 2007.
