Laura Kleinschmidt, DVM, DACZM, is an experienced veterinarian specializing in zoological medicine. Currently serving as an Associate Veterinarian at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium since 2020, Laura previously held the same title at Dallas Zoo from 2018 to 2020 and completed a veterinary residency at Saint Louis Zoo from 2015 to 2018. Laura has also contributed to veterinary education as an Intern Instructor in Zoological Medicine at Texas A&M University during 2014-2015 and gained hands-on experience through externships at various zoos and wildlife conservation centers. Laura earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013, following a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Pre-vet from Iowa State University in 2009.
