Joseph Martens is an experienced leader in environmental and energy sectors, currently serving as the Chairperson of the Olympic Regional Development Authority since June 2022. Previously, Joseph held the position of Director at the NY Alliance for Clean Energy, specifically overseeing the NY Offshore Wind Alliance from August 2017 to June 2022. Joseph also served as Commissioner of the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation from January 2011 to August 2015. Prior to these roles, Joseph was the President of the Open Space Institute for over a decade, focusing on land conservation along the east coast. Joseph holds a B.S. in Resource Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Masters of Science in Natural Resource Management from the NYS College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
