Curtis Coleman

Asst. Professor & Founding Director Of Cybersecurity Education Center at Oklahoma Christian University

Curtis Coleman has extensive experience in the field of cybersecurity. Curtis currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and the Founding Director of the Cybersecurity Education Center at Oklahoma Christian University. In this role, they teach both undergraduate and graduate level cybersecurity courses, covering a range of topics such as network security, cloud architecture, data forensics, and offensive security.

Prior to joining Oklahoma Christian University, Curtis worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Computer Science with Cybersecurity, where they taught courses in introductory cybersecurity, network security, cloud architecture, and more.

In addition to their academic roles, Curtis also has experience in the business sector. Curtis was a Partner, Executive Consultant, and Venture Capitalist Investor at CHC Investments Enterprises. Curtis also served as a Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Seagate Technology, where they were responsible for global IT security governance and operations.

Furthermore, Curtis was a Governance Board Member at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's Network Security Innovation Center.

Curtis Coleman earned a Doctor of Business Administration with a focus on cybersecurity from Liberty University, which they attended from 2021 to 2023. Prior to that, they pursued a PhD in Information Systems at Nova Southeastern University from 2005 to 2008. Curtis also obtained a Master of Science degree in Information Assurance from Norwich University between 2002 and 2004. Curtis began their educational journey by earning a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from California State University, Fresno, from 1983 to 1987. In addition to their degrees, they have several certifications in the field of information security, including certifications from OPSWAT, ISACA, and (ISC)².
