Dom Ridout has had a diverse range of work experiences. Dom started their career as the Assistant Facilities Manager at CAFOD from September 2007 to March 2009. Dom then worked as a Project Manager at Oasis UK from April 2009 to April 2011, and during this time, they also served as a Transition Mentor from April 2010 to September 2010. Following this, Dom worked as a Photographer at their own company, Dom Ridout Photographer, from October 2009 to September 2013. Dom then became a Director at Beeconomics, an eco-social company that produces natural cosmetics made from local bee-related resources, from November 2012 to present. Finally, Dom became a Director at Okira, a company that creates aromatic cosmetics using natural and organic ingredients, including essential oils and pure honey, inspired by the beauty of northeastern Brazil, from January 2016 to present.

Dom Ridout attended St Andrews CE High School from 1995 to 2000. This is their earliest known educational experience. After completing high school, they enrolled at Reigate College in 2000, where they studied Information Technology, Business Studies, Electronics, and Physical Education. It is not specified if they obtained a degree from Reigate College. In 2004, Dom Ridout joined the London School of Theology and graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology.
