Jan Karjalainen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in nuclear asset governance and engineering. Currently serving as the Head of Nuclear Asset Governance at Uniper Sverige, Jan oversees asset and risk management of nuclear power assets. Prior roles include Head of Engineering and Acting Managing Director at OKG AB, where Jan led engineering initiatives focused on nuclear safety and compliance, as well as quality management. Jan is also involved with SQC Swedish Qualification Centre AB as a board member, contributing to qualification reviews and consulting within the nuclear industry, and serves as Vice Chairman at KSU, emphasizing training in nuclear safety. Previously, Jan has held various positions at Vattenfall, gaining expertise in plant design and nuclear safety, following an early career as a System Verification Engineer at Ericsson AB. Educational credentials include multiple degrees in engineering and organizational behavior from Uppsala University and a fellowship from the World Nuclear University.
