Tim Coombs has extensive experience in oil spill response and training. Tim worked at Oil Spill Response Ltd for many years, starting as a Senior Spill Response Specialist and later becoming a Senior Trainer and a Principal Trainer. In these roles, they were responsible for developing and delivering courses on oil spill response, both in the UK and internationally. Tim also attended major oil spills around the world to provide assistance and advice in cleanup operations. Prior to their work at Oil Spill Response Ltd, Tim served in the Royal Navy as a CPOMEA. Tim also had a role in HMS Gloucester during that time.

Tim Coombs attended the HMS Sultan School of Naval Engineering from 1987 to 1990, where they pursued a BTEC degree in Marine Engineering.
