Darren O'Shaughnessy has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Darren started their career in 1990 as a Finance Clerk at Bartlett Advertising, where they worked until 1995. In 2000, they joined Letsbuyit.com as a Finance Clerk and stayed until 2001. From 2001 to 2006, they served as a Management Accountant at KPMG. Darren then took on roles at KPMG as a GSM Team Leader from 2007 to 2008 and as a Supplier Manager in Global Supplier Management from 2008 to 2017. In 2018, they transitioned to ILA Vietnam as an English Teacher and worked there until 2022. Currently, they are employed at Oikocredit as an IT Procurement and Supplier.

Darren O'Shaughnessy completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics with a year in Europe at the University of Leicester from 1996 to 2000. In 1998 to 1999, they also attended the University of Amsterdam, where they focused on economics. Later, in 2003 to 2004, Darren pursued the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting at The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
