Anakaren Garcia is a dedicated grant writer and fund development coordinator currently employed at OIC of Washington since March 2023. Previously, Anakaren held various roles, including venue sales manager at the Yakima Area Arboretum, sales manager at American Eagle Outfitters, and editorial assistant at Seattle magazine. In addition, Anakaren served as features editor and assistant editor for CWU PULSE magazine, overseeing substantial story pieces and mentoring new writers. Early career experience includes roles as a sales associate at Pier 1 and rue21, where training new employees and managing inventory were key responsibilities. Anakaren holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Central Washington University and an associate of arts degree from Yakima Valley College.
