Ilco van Bolhuis has a strong background in software development and automation. Ilco started their career in 2003 at VKO Software & Support Utrecht, where they worked as a developer and automation specialist for the glass industry. During their time there, they developed various web integrations for their Windows package. In 2005, Ilco joined BinckBank as a Senior Developer, where they worked for four years on internal systems, customer sites, and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) systems. In 2009, they became a partner and co-founder of Ohpen, where they became the Lead Developer responsible for all system developments.

Ilco van Bolhuis obtained their Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) certification from 2005 to 2007. Prior to that, they pursued their higher education at HTS - Hogere informatica opleiding from 1999 to 2003. No specific degree or field of study was mentioned for both educational experiences.
